Ogun installs Oba Balogun as Alaye of Imobiland

Ogun State, Nigeria – The installation of Oba Abdul Fatai Olatunji Balogun as the Alaye of Imobiland has officially concluded a lengthy selection process for the community's traditional ruler. The ceremony, which spanned three days, saw the presentation of the instrument and staff of office to the new monarch.

Governor Dapo Abiodun, represented at the event, encouraged Oba Balogun to follow the path of the late Awujale of Ijebuland, Oba Sikiru Kayode Adetona. The governor emphasized the importance of emulating Adetona's contributions to peace and development in Ijebuland. Abiodun reiterated the state government's commitment to industrialization and attracting investments, stressing that such initiatives require grassroots support mobilized by traditional rulers.

Officials highlighted the shared responsibility between traditional leaders and residents in advancing their communities. The Chairman of Ijebu East Local Government, Dr. Oludamilare Kehinde, urged the people of Imobi to support Oba Balogun and leverage local resources for development. The Obiri of Aiyepe, Oba Adebisi Okubanjo, advised the new monarch to foster an inclusive reign to ensure the trust and cooperation of his subjects.

In his acceptance speech, Oba Balogun expressed gratitude to all stakeholders involved in his installation.
