Okocha defeats Portable in celebrity boxing rematch

Nollywood actor Charles Okocha secured a victory over street-pop singer Habeeb Okikiola, known as Portable, in a highly anticipated celebrity boxing rematch. The fight, promoted as "Unfinished Business," took place Friday at the Balmoral Convention Centre in Lagos.

Portable walked out of the ring during the first round after a scuffle that involved grappling and security intervention. Despite returning later, officials disqualified him for abandoning the contest, declaring Okocha the winner by disqualification. The host announced the decision, stating Okocha, also known as "Mr Algorithm," was the winner because Portable left the ring.

The rivalry stems from a 2023 dispute over money from a past event. Portable accused Okocha of withholding millions of naira, while Okocha claimed he had paid ₦5 million and disputed the existence of a formal agreement. Their first fight in December 2023, which Portable won, also ended controversially, with Okocha alleging unfair play and demanding a rematch.
