Why I quit Okocha rematch mid-fight - Portable

Street-pop singer Habeeb Okikiola, widely known as Portable, has broken his silence on why he exited the boxing ring during his rematch against Nollywood actor Charles Okocha. Hours after being disqualified, Portable released a video on Instagram, asserting that Okocha abandoned boxing for wrestling and resorted to biting him during their bout.

Displaying what he claimed were bite marks and injuries on his body, Portable insisted, “He bit me. I landed a heavy hit on him.” He further alleged that several individuals attacked him during the altercation. The singer maintained that he was in control of the fight before the situation escalated into a physical struggle, claiming, “Normally, I beat him up. Man to man, one man is tougher than another. I dealt him a huge blow.”

Portable elaborated on his decision to leave the ring, stating he did not want to jeopardize his career for celebrity boxing. "I'm big! I'm bigger than the money! I'm a star!" he declared, arguing that his status far outweighed the prize money. He also claimed to have fulfilled his promise of landing 10 punches on Okocha before his exit, adding, "I wore one-round cloth to the bout. I wanted to beat him in one round."

The rematch, titled "Unfinished Business," took place Friday in Lagos. The contest devolved into a wrestling-like scuffle, prompting security intervention. Portable's departure led to his disqualification and handed victory to Okocha. This defeat marks Portable's second consecutive loss in three months, following his loss to Carter Efe on May 2nd.
