Olimpia rallies to beat Umecit and maintain perfect record in Central American Cup

Olimpia of Honduras secured a crucial 2-1 comeback victory against Panama's Umecit in the CONCACAF Central American Cup. The win propelled the Honduran club to the top of Group C with a perfect six points after two matches, while Umecit suffered their second straight defeat.

Umecit took an early lead in the fifth minute when Hiberto Peralta found the back of the net. However, Olimpia responded in the 22nd minute, with José Raúl García capitalizing on a rebound from a corner kick to level the score. The first half saw missed opportunities for both sides, with Olimpia narrowly missing a go-ahead goal and Umecit firing a shot just wide before the break.

The second half remained a tense affair, with Olimpia creating several chances. The decisive moment came in the 83rd minute when Imanol Enríquez scored the winning goal after a series of attacks, sealing the three points for Olimpia. The Honduran team then focused on defending their lead against Umecit's desperate attempts to equalize, ultimately securing the victory on Panamanian soil.
