Olympiacos to strengthen squad with goalkeeper, midfielder; coach Mendilibar has final say on transfers

Olympiacos vice-president Kostas Karapapas has provided a clear picture of the club's transfer strategy, addressing speculation and assuring fans that the team possesses a high-quality roster. Speaking from the Netherlands, where the team is concluding its pre-season training, Karapapas stated that Olympiacos will indeed reinforce its squad, specifically targeting a goalkeeper and a central midfielder, often referred to as the 'number eight' position.

The team has an excellent roster, which will be strengthened where necessary, namely in goal and at number eight.

Karapapas also shed light on the situation concerning goalkeeper Konstantis Tzolakis. He explained that Tzolakis, a product of the club's academy, had long desired to play in a top European league. The club facilitated his return to Athens to pursue potential transfer procedures, emphasizing their care for the young player. If a transfer is finalized, Olympiacos plans to acquire a quality goalkeeper who will compete with Popovic for the starting position, with the final decision resting on performance.
