Oman: Identity and Civilization event launched in Dhofar

The "My Identity: Oman – Identity and Civilization" event and exhibition commenced this week in Salalah, Dhofar Governorate, aiming to showcase the Sultanate's rich cultural heritage and authentic Islamic values. Hosted at the Sultan Qaboos Youth Compound for Culture and Entertainment, the event, organized by the Hidayah Waqf Foundation, will continue until August 19, 2026.

Under the patronage of Dr. Ahmed Mohsen Al Ghassani, Chairman of Dhofar Municipality, the exhibition features a diverse array of pavilions. These include displays on rights within Omani society, Omani values in urban jurisprudence, and the ethics of Omani merchants in spreading Islam. Visitors can also explore Omani contributions to the humanities and an Omani village pavilion that embodies the distinctive features of Omani architecture as intellectual and human heritage.

The core objective of the event is to illuminate the civilizational essence of Oman and the deep roots of its Islamic values. It seeks to present the balanced Omani character as a model and to strengthen Omani identity among various segments of society. The exhibition serves as a platform to celebrate and reinforce the nation's cultural and historical significance.
