Oman to host ICESCO delegation for cultural diplomacy initiative

The Sultanate of Oman is set to host a delegation from the Islamic World Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ICESCO) for a four-day initiative focused on advancing dialogue and cultural diplomacy. Running from August 25 to 28 in the Dhofar Governorate, the "Civilization Bridges" program aims to explore the region's rich civilizational, cultural, heritage, and developmental assets.

The program seeks to reinforce institutional cooperation between ICESCO and Oman, fostering partnerships and dialogue. This approach transforms cultural tours into dynamic platforms where ICESCO leaders and experts can gain direct insight into national experiences, cultural distinctiveness, and development initiatives of member states. The goal is to identify emerging avenues for collaboration.

The delegation's agenda includes visits to historical landmarks and heritage sites, as well as reviews of development projects. They will also examine local best practices in culture, heritage, tourism, and archaeological preservation. Exchanges with Omani officials and stakeholders are planned to promote sharing of expertise and identify new collaborative opportunities.

Outcomes are expected to define new areas of cooperation, enhance the exchange of expertise, and support joint initiatives within ICESCO's purview. This visit is part of ICESCO's broader strategy to deepen direct knowledge of member states' experiences and build networks between its experts and national institutions.
