Omar Fernández: Opposition unity is key to challenging ruling party

Senator Omar Fernández has issued a stark warning to the Dominican Republic's opposition parties, stating that a failure to unite could jeopardize their ability to govern the nation. Fernández, a member of the political directorate of the Fuerza del Pueblo party, emphasized that if major opposition forces, specifically his own and the Dominican Liberation Party (PLD), cannot find common ground, they will struggle to project the national unity required to lead the country.

However, he reiterated that future collaboration is essential for presenting a viable governmental alternative capable of displacing the Modern Revolutionary Party (PRM) from power.
