Omar Park unveils innovative fountain producing drinking water from air humidity

Visitors to Panama City's Omar Recreational and Cultural Park can now access a free, innovative source of drinking water generated directly from the air's humidity. The new fountain, installed at the park's rear entrance near Carrasquilla, utilizes cutting-edge technology and renewable energy to produce potable water.

Alexander Ermakov of Alternative Water Corp explained the system's process: "It collects moisture from the environment, passes it through a grid, condenses it, purifies it, and stores it in a tank. Excess water that doesn't fit in the machine's internal tank is also used for irrigation or potability purposes."

This technology is designed to capture ambient moisture, transform it into safe drinking water, and make it available to the public without relying on traditional water supply sources. A similar machine is already in operation at the Hospital de Las Tablas, demonstrating the viability of this solution.

The installation is particularly beneficial for remote or hard-to-access communities where securing a reliable supply of drinking water presents a significant challenge. The project aims to promote sustainable alternatives for water production and encourage the adoption of environmentally friendly technologies.
