Omar Sultanov Appointed Kyrgyz Ambassador to the United Kingdom

Omar Sultanov has been appointed as the new Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Kyrgyzstan to the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland. The decree formalizing this appointment was signed by President Sadyr Japarov.

This appointment follows Sultanov's recent diplomatic service representing Kyrgyzstan on the international stage. He had been serving as Kyrgyzstan’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations Office and other international organizations in Geneva since May 31, 2022. Prior to that, he was appointed Ambassador to Switzerland on November 30, 2022.

Sultanov brings a wealth of experience to his new role, having held several significant diplomatic and government positions throughout his career. His previous postings include serving as Kyrgyzstan’s Ambassador to Germany. He also headed the Presidential Administration and worked as the First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, demonstrating a broad understanding of Kyrgyzstan's foreign policy and administrative structures.
