One arrested over suspected arson in Bramming

A 59-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of deliberately starting a fire in an apartment building on Jernbanegade in Bramming, Denmark, police said.

The fire was reported at 3:50 p.m. It started in an apartment, and smoke prevented other residents from getting out of the building. Smoke divers evacuated everyone, and no one was injured.

Once police finish their work at the scene, all residents except those from the fire-damaged apartment can return, according to the South and South Jutland Police.

Authorities will later decide whether to bring the arrested man before a constitutional hearing on the charge of intentional arson.
