One dead, one missing after boat capsizes on Dong Nai River

Authorities and residents in Lam Dong province are continuing their search for Le Trong Tai, 33, who remains missing after a boat capsized on the Dong Nai River near Bao Thuan commune. The incident occurred on the evening of August 27 when a boat carrying eight people overturned as they were returning to shore after a gathering.

Rescue teams, including local police and residents, immediately launched a search operation on the night of August 27. However, the search was hampered by darkness, cold weather, and strong river currents. Despite the difficulties, rescuers recovered the body of Nguyen Van Luong, 38, and handed it over to his family for funeral arrangements.

As of the morning of August 28, Le Trong Tai had not yet been found. Dozens of officers from the Lam Dong Provincial Police's Firefighting and Rescue Department, along with local militia and residents, have expanded their search along the Dong Nai River. The initial report indicates that the group was having a meal at a location known as "small island" in the middle of the river when the accident happened.
