One Injured in Helicopter Fire Incident

A helicopter caught fire at Sultan Abdul Aziz Shah Airport in Subang, Malaysia, resulting in one minor injury. The incident occurred midday as the aircraft was preparing for engine testing following repair work.

According to Ashrul Riezal Asbar, Assistant Director of Operations for the Malaysian Fire and Rescue Department in Selangor, the injured individual was a crew member who sustained injuries from debris while outside the aircraft. Four people were on board the helicopter at the time of the incident.

The helicopter, identified as a Kamov Ka-32 model, was located at an aircraft maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) facility. The fire, which consumed 100% of the helicopter, occurred around 12:34 PM as the aircraft was about to take off for engine testing. All four individuals on board managed to evacuate safely before the fire intensified.

Authorities are investigating the cause of the fire, which happened during a post-repair engine test. The incident caused significant damage to the helicopter, but prompt evacuation prevented further casualties.
