Onits AI and FuriosaAI to Develop Private AI Appliance Using Domestic NPUs

Onits AI and FuriosaAI are joining forces to build a private AI appliance for organizations that cannot freely use external cloud services.

The partnership targets closed-network environments in sectors such as finance and the public sector, where security and data-management requirements are strict. The companies recently completed a proof of concept using FuriosaAI’s second-generation AI accelerator, RNGD. They said the test confirmed that generative AI and AI agents could operate within a restricted network.

The appliance will combine RNGD, an inference accelerator from FuriosaAI, with Onits AI’s Orbit solution for integrated AI infrastructure management. It will also include Probe, Onits AI’s platform for operating and controlling private AI systems.

Corporate artificial intelligence transformation does not stop at simply adopting models. It must also be accompanied by the infrastructure to support them.

The cooperation responds to demand from companies that want to process sensitive data securely on internal infrastructure without sending it outside the organization. Beyond joint product development, the companies plan to work together on marketing and customer acquisition.
