Opposition lacks new issues, relying on Najib and Rosmah: BN chairman

The opposition is struggling to find new campaign material for the Johor state election, according to Barisan Nasional (BN) chairman Ahmad Zahid Hamidi. He believes their repeated focus on former Prime Minister Najib Razak and his wife Rosmah Mansor demonstrates a lack of fresh issues.

"The parties involved do not have new issues, so they return to raising such matters," Zahid said, referring to the opposition's continued emphasis on the former first couple. He suggested this strategy indicates their campaign is running on empty, relying on old controversies rather than presenting new policies or ideas.

Zahid asserted that BN, in contrast, possesses new issues and a robust strategy for the campaign. He implied that his party is better equipped to address current concerns and present a forward-looking agenda for Johor, contrasting BN's approach with what he described as the opposition's stale tactics.
