Osijek coach unhappy with play despite 6-1 win; Peternac: 'We started the match well'

Osijek secured a dominant 6-1 victory over newly promoted Rudeš in the opening match of the second round of the Croatian First Football League (HNL). The game took place at the stadium in Velika Gorica, with Rudeš listed as the home team.

Nail Omerović was the star of the match, netting a hat-trick for Osijek. Armando Leon contributed two goals, and Arnel Jakupović added a single strike. Lenny Ilečić scored a consolation goal for Rudeš.

Conversely, Rudeš coach Alen Peternac expressed satisfaction with his team's initial performance despite the heavy defeat. "It's hard to say anything after 6-1. First, I would like to congratulate Osijek on an excellent presentation. We need to work, harder and more. We started the match well, we prepared the match well, we had more possession. We had five shots, they had six. They scored with individual quality, we didn't. It bothers me that we fell apart, we cannot afford that.
