Bola Oyebamiji, the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate for the August 15, 2026, governorship election in Osun State, has asserted his position as President Bola Tinubu's sole endorsed candidate. Oyebamiji made this claim during the inauguration of 7,830 polling unit canvassers, dismissing as false any reports that President Tinubu had endorsed the incumbent governor.

He characterized such claims as a coordinated propaganda effort aimed at misleading voters. "The claim that the president has endorsed the incumbent governor is false and should be disregarded," Oyebamiji stated. He assured that his administration would prioritize fairness, justice, transparency, accountability, and the equitable distribution of resources.

Oyebamiji described the inauguration of canvassers as a strategic move to deepen grassroots mobilization across Osun's wards and local government areas, aiming to strengthen voter engagement and secure victory.

Leaders within the APC urged the canvassers to remain committed to the party's electoral drive, highlighting their crucial role in the victory strategy. They also criticized the current Osun State administration, alleging mismanagement and promising that an Oyebamiji-led government would focus on inclusive, people-centered governance.
