In a statement released on Sunday, the Commissioner for Information and Public Enlightenment, Kolapo Alimi, conveyed the government's message. The state administration extended condolences to victims of pre-election tensions and violence, advocating for state healing and the avoidance of any relapse into conflict in the post-election period. The government acknowledged immediate post-election disruptions in some areas and urged all residents to embrace the restoration of peaceful coexistence.

The government emphasized that the election has concluded and that efforts are underway for a peaceful way forward, as agreed upon by the President and the Governor. Any push towards violence, it warned, would be an affront to the Presidency and the Nigerian constitution. The statement also called on security agencies to enforce the rule of law, including the release of political detainees, and demanded an end to perceived partisan policing, particularly concerning local government and motor park management. "We call on all political actors to speak and act peacefully. Osun should be in a period of healing and building.
