Osun: Davido tells Faleke, ‘Respect people’s verdict, don’t pressure INEC’

Nigerian Afrobeats star David Adeleke, known as Davido, has publicly called on House of Representatives member Hon. James Faleke to accept the outcome of the Osun State governorship election. Davido, a vocal supporter of his uncle, Governor Ademola Adeleke, urged Faleke to stop allegedly pressuring the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) regarding the election results.

In a post on his X (formerly Twitter) account, Davido emphasized the importance of respecting the will of the people of Osun State. He explicitly stated that the electorate does not favor the candidates from the All Progressives Congress (APC), naming former Governor Gboyega Oyetola and APC candidate Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji, also known as AMBO.

The singer's intervention comes as the collation of results for the August 15 governorship election continues. Davido's public statement highlights the ongoing political tensions and the significance of public figures weighing in on electoral processes in Nigeria.
