Osun Election: SERAP urges INEC, EFCC, ICPC to probe vote-buying, violence

The Socio-Economic Rights and Accountability Project (SERAP) has called on Nigeria's electoral and anti-corruption agencies to investigate alleged vote-buying and violence during the Osun governorship election. SERAP specifically urged the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), and the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) to act.

In its appeal, SERAP requested a prompt, joint, and transparent investigation into reported cases of vote-buying, financial inducement, illegal election financing, voter intimidation, violence, and the misuse of public funds. The organization also called for regional and United Nations scrutiny of the electoral process.
