Osun election: Suspected political thugs attack Aree’s palace

The palace of the Aree of Iree, Oba Muritala Oyelakin, was attacked by suspected political thugs in the early hours of Friday, just hours before the governorship election in Osun State. The monarch reported that the incident occurred around 2 a.m. when two Sienna vehicles arrived at the palace.

According to Oba Oyelakin, the occupants of the vehicles fired shots into the air before shooting at the palace gate. He stated that the attackers were likely discouraged from entering the premises because lights were on, as some individuals were present observing prayers at the time. The monarch said he repeatedly switched the lights off and on to draw attention and scare the assailants away.
