Osun Poll: Davido alleges arrest of PDP chairman Sunday Bisi

Nigerian singer David Adeleke, known as Davido, has alleged the arrest of Sunday Bisi, the Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Osun State. Davido made the claim on the social media platform X on Saturday, August 15, 2026, as voting began in the Osun State governorship election.

Davido stated that Bisi was arrested around 2 p.m. after police officers allegedly invaded his residence in Ilesa. According to the singer, police accused Bisi of moving around on election day. Davido also criticized the police, noting that the same agency allegedly ignored thugs from the All Progressives Congress (APC) harassing voters.

The allegation comes amid heightened political tension in Osun State as voters decide on their next governor. Incumbent Governor Ademola Adeleke is seeking another term in the 2026 Osun governorship election, which is taking place on Saturday, August 15. As of the time of filing this report, the Osun State Police Command had not issued an official statement confirming Bisi's reported arrest or clarifying the circumstances surrounding the alleged detention.
