#OsunDecide2026: Fadahunsi votes, charges APC supporters to be vigilant

Senator Francis Fadahunsi cast his vote in the Osun State governorship election on Saturday, urging his party's supporters and polling agents to remain vigilant. Fadahunsi, representing Osun East in the National Assembly and a member of the All Progressives Congress (APC), voted at his polling unit in Ilase, Obokun Local Government Area.

After casting his ballot, Fadahunsi made a contentious statement, suggesting that residents who did not vote for the APC should not be considered indigenes of Ilase. "Anyone who casts votes wrongly is not an indigene of Ilase," he told supporters, adding that he would be in Ilesa later. He also described the voter turnout as encouraging and urged his supporters to motivate more residents to participate.

These remarks follow earlier accusations against Fadahunsi for allegedly threatening to kill members of the Accord Party in Ilesa. The alleged threat occurred during a protest over the killings of APC members in the Ijesaland area. Fadahunsi later clarified his use of the word "kill," stating it was intended to mean voting against the opposition, not literal violence.

The senator's comments have heightened political tension in the region ahead of the election. Security was notably present at Fadahunsi's polling unit, where he was initially delayed in voting.
