Otti receives PDP ex-deputy governorship candidate into Labour Party

Governor Alex Otti of Abia State has welcomed Dr. Jasper Uche, the former Deputy Governorship candidate for the People's Democratic Party in the 2023 general election, along with his supporters, into the Labour Party. This move signifies a significant political realignment in the state, with Uche and his 'Ihe Abia Organisation' publicly endorsing Otti for a second term in 2027.

Otti, speaking at his country home, expressed his gratitude for Uche's support and reiterated his unwavering dedication to fulfilling his mandate in Abia. He invoked divine providence, stating that God's plan for change in the state cannot be thwarted. The governor emphasized his administration's resilience in the face of political challenges and welcomed new entrants into the Labour Party, directing the Commissioner for Lands to facilitate Uche's proper reception and integration.

Dr. Uche, in his address, highlighted Governor Otti's visible and people-centered achievements as the motivation behind his decision to switch parties. He assured the governor of his commitment and that of his supporters to work towards securing a substantial victory in the 2027 elections, aiming to significantly increase the vote count from the Umunneochi Local Government Area. This influx of political figures into the ruling party underscores the ongoing dynamics of political maneuvering and consolidation within Abia State.
