Ho Chi Minh City National University (VNU-HCM) has announced a significant surge in registrations for its second competency assessment exam in 2026, with over 170,000 candidates signing up. This figure marks a substantial 77.25% increase from last year's second exam, underscoring the increasing appeal and importance of this admission pathway for higher education in Vietnam.

The exam, designed to evaluate candidates' aptitude beyond traditional academic scores, has become a critical tool for many universities. The sheer volume of registrations, with nearly 110,000 candidates having already participated in the first exam, highlights the exam's established credibility and reach.
