Over 2,000 Ho Chi Minh City workers receive free health check-ups and legal advice

More than 2,000 workers in Ho Chi Minh City benefited from a "Giving Health and Legal Advice to Workers" event held on Sunday, June 21. Organized by the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor in coordination with the Central Council of Young Doctors and the Vietnam Lawyers Federation, the event aimed to provide essential services to the city's workforce.

Workers received full clinical examinations, necessary tests, and diagnostic imaging; they were also advised on nutrition, exercise, mental health, reproductive health, safety, occupational hygiene, and occupational disease prevention.

The program featured free health check-ups and screenings guided by Ministry of Health protocols. Workers received comprehensive clinical examinations across various specialties, along with necessary tests and diagnostic imaging. They were also advised on nutrition, exercise, mental health, reproductive health, occupational safety, and disease prevention. The initiative incorporated digital technology, including AI, for early risk detection and updated results to electronic health records on VNeID, linking to the national health management system for long-term care.

Alongside health services, a significant component of the event was free legal consultation provided by lawyers from the Vietnam Lawyers Federation. The advice centered on practical issues such as labor law, social insurance, unemployment benefits, workplace safety, occupational accidents, and diseases, as well as workers' legal rights in employment relationships. To ensure accessibility, legal scenarios were presented through interactive role-playing and direct consultations, helping workers better understand and protect their rights.

Legal consultation focused on practical issues such as labor law, social insurance, unemployment insurance, safety, occupational hygiene, occupational accidents, occupational diseases, and the legal rights and interests of workers in labor relations.

The event also included cultural and artistic activities, health and legal awareness campaigns, and social security booths. Organizers distributed 100 gifts to workers facing hardship, illness, or work-related injuries. The program aimed to provide tangible support and enhance workers' awareness of health and legal protections, fostering a healthier and more informed workforce in Vietnam.
