Over 456,000 liters of fuel seized in Hidalgo; illicit processing center secured

Federal authorities in Hidalgo, Mexico, have dismantled a significant operation involved in the illicit processing of fuel. During a raid in Tizayuca, investigators discovered facilities suspected of being used for illegal hydrocarbon processing, seizing over 456,300 liters of the substance.

The operation was a coordinated effort involving the Attorney General's Office (FGR), the Secretariat of Security and Citizen Protection (SSPC), and the National Guard. The raid followed intelligence gathering and various denunciations. In addition to the fuel, authorities secured 32 containers with 1,000-liter capacity, 25 containers with 5,000-liter capacity, computer equipment, monitors, and an electronic device.

In a related action in the municipality of Tula, federal and state forces conducted an operation on a dirt road. This led to the seizure of 12 pickup trucks, two of which had active theft reports. Authorities also found 13,600 liters of hydrocarbon and 400 meters of high-pressure hose, along with other materials believed to be used in illegal fuel extraction and transport.

All seized assets, including the vehicles, fuel, and equipment, have been turned over to the FGR. The agency will continue its investigation into these illicit activities, which represent a substantial blow to organized crime's involvement in fuel theft and processing in the region.
