Over 460,000 households benefit from cash transfer in Kwara

The Federal Government, in partnership with the Kwara State Government, is making significant strides in its poverty reduction efforts through the Household Prosperity and Empowerment Cash Transfer Programme. This initiative has already reached an impressive milestone, benefiting over 460,000 households across the state. The program underscores a strong commitment to social protection, aiming to uplift the most vulnerable segments of society.

During a working visit to Ilorin, the Minister for Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Reduction, Dr. Bernard M. Doro, lauded Kwara State's robust implementation framework. He emphasized that the program serves as a critical pillar in Nigeria's national poverty reduction strategy and a prime example of effective federal-state collaboration. The minister's remarks highlight the importance of transparency, accountability, and data-driven targeting to ensure that aid effectively reaches those in need.

The program aligns with the vision of Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, focusing on strengthening social inclusion for various disadvantaged groups, including orphans, persons with disabilities, and the elderly.
