Ozlynn Waty shares her spiritual journey to embracing hijab

Actress Ozlynn Waty has opened up about her personal journey toward embracing hijab, revealing that her decision was preceded by a period of introspection and life's challenges.

Despite possessing a foundational understanding of Islam, including the ability to translate the Quran and studying hadith, Waty admitted her outward appearance did not reflect her knowledge. She explained that everyone faces different trials, and her own path to covering her aurat (modesty) was a gradual process.

Waty shared her gratitude for her heart finally opening to this spiritual change in 2024. She mentioned that her pilgrimage for Hajj in the same year was a significant moment. "I'm not as great as you yet, but every change and progress is still there," she stated, reflecting on her ongoing efforts toward spiritual consistency.

She credits her positive social environment for supporting her transformation. "My social circle is all very positive. May we all become better individuals for the end of our lives. Amen," Waty expressed. The actress also noted her inspiration from an entrepreneur who calmly handled criticism about her attire, which had evolved over 17 years to include a niqab.
