P-Square feud destroyed Africa's biggest music brand, claims Daddy Showkey

Veteran Nigerian singer John Asiemo, popularly known as Daddy Showkey, has voiced strong disappointment over the ongoing conflict between P-Square members Peter and Paul Okoye and their elder brother and former manager, Jude Okoye. Daddy Showkey asserted in a viral interview with Goldmyne TV that the brothers' prolonged feud has dismantled what he considers "Africa's biggest music group."

The Okoye family has been a subject of intense media attention due to a recent escalation of accusations between the brothers. Peter Okoye, also known as Mr P, initiated the latest controversy by releasing a series of videos detailing his account of P-Square's history, financial dealings, and the reasons behind the group's repeated breakups.

Daddy Showkey, celebrating his 56th birthday, emphasized that entertainers are not solely for themselves but for the people who support them. He urged Peter and Paul to cease their public disputes and consider their future, stressing the importance of resolving their differences for the sake of their children. P-Square, formed by Peter and Paul, achieved significant success as one of Africa's top music duos before their initial split in 2017. Despite a reconciliation in 2021, they parted ways again in 2024 following new disagreements concerning the group's finances and management. The dispute has involved investigations by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) and a court case with Jude Okoye, who denies any financial misconduct and accuses his younger brother of misrepresenting facts.
