The unanimous decision, made at the party's National Delegates Conference on Saturday, August 1, 2026, signals a commitment to fundamentally reimagine Ghana's leadership.

In his acceptance speech, Dr. Kpikpi decried the current state of leadership, asserting that a collapse of integrity at the top has led to the nation's stagnation. Citing leadership guru John Maxwell, he stated, "Everything rises and falls on leadership," and argued that the country's decay stems from decisions made in bad faith. He criticized the system of awarding public contracts based on kickbacks rather than merit, which he believes results in shoddy work and impunity.

Dr. Kpikpi's "Reimagining Ghana" agenda focuses on unlocking the potential of the nation's youth, a demographic comprising 70 to 74 percent of the population. He proposed establishing "agricultural villages" with modern amenities, including housing, water, electricity, and Wi-Fi, to incentivize young people to engage in farming. This initiative aims to transform Ghana from a net importer of staples like rice, saving an estimated $700 million annually that would be redirected to local farmers, creating "millionaire farmers."

His vision also addresses the "national disgrace" of the country's infrastructure, advocating for a shift towards "Ghanaian-built" roads. This would involve training and equipping local youth to establish their own road-building companies, fostering job creation and retaining wealth domestically. Furthermore, Dr. Kpikpi pledged to tackle the housing deficit, setting a 10 to 12-year target to ensure every Ghanaian family owns a minimum two-bedroom house, aiming to build 2.4 million units and reverse the current trend of inadequate housing.
