Pahang wins nine awards at 2026 Tourism Industry Awards

Pahang has solidified its position as a premier tourist destination, clinching nine accolades at the prestigious Malaysia International Tourism Development Association (MiTDA) Tourism Industry Awards 2026. The state's vibrant tourism sector was celebrated for its excellence and appeal to visitors.

Tourism Pahang itself received the coveted award for the Highest Average Occupancy Rate in Malaysia. This recognition highlights the state's strong performance in the tourism industry and the sustained confidence visitors place in Pahang's diverse range of products and destinations.

Further underscoring the state's success, eight additional awards were presented to key players within Pahang's tourism industry. The Kuantan City Council (MBK) was honored with three awards, including Best Tourism Development Initiative, Best Recreational Destination, and Sustainable Tourism Program.

Other notable recipients included East Coast Mall (ECM) Kuantan, named Best Shopping Mall in Kuantan, and LoVita Hotel Kuantan, recognized as the Best Budget Hotel in the district. Resort World Genting received an award for Best Integrated Resort Destination, while SkyAvenue garnered two awards for Best Highland Destination and Best Family Holiday Destination.

Nor Zahira Muhammad Azmi, General Manager of Tourism Pahang, accepted the award for Highest Average Occupancy Rate on behalf of the state government. She attributed the achievement to the close collaboration between the state government, local authorities, tourism operators, and all industry stakeholders who are committed to enhancing Pahang's tourism sector.
