Pakistan insists on efforts to reactivate US-Iran negotiations

Pakistan is intensifying its diplomatic efforts, collaborating with allied countries, to revive stalled negotiations between the United States and Iran. The core of these initiatives is the "Islamabad Memorandum," a framework designed to facilitate dialogue and reduce regional tensions between the two nations.

Tahir Andrabi, spokesperson for Pakistan's Ministry of Foreign Affairs, affirmed the country's commitment. "Pakistan is making all possible efforts to bring the two parties to the negotiation table and to the Islamabad Memorandum, and to pave the way for peace and stability in the region," he stated, as reported by the Pakistani newspaper Dawn. Andrabi added that Islamabad would continue working through various channels to "neutralize saboteurs" and ensure constructive dialogue on pending issues.

These statements were made concurrently with a meeting in Islamabad between Pakistani Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar and Iranian Ambassador Reza Amiri Moghadam. During the meeting, Dar emphasized that "dialogue and diplomacy remain the only effective means to address pending issues and achieve lasting peace, stability, and prosperity in the region."

Dar, who also serves as deputy prime minister, reaffirmed Pakistan's dedication to strengthening its relationship with Iran. Pakistan has played a mediating role in recent months, hosting the Islamabad Memorandum as a roadmap for reactivating technical contacts and de-escalating regional tensions.
