Palestine Calls for Protection of Ancient Heritage Sites

Palestinian Minister of Heritage and Tourism Hani Al-Hayek has urged for intensified national efforts to safeguard the region's rich archaeological and historical heritage. He specifically highlighted the urgent need to protect sites from the ongoing threats posed by Israeli occupation and settler activities, particularly in the Hebron Governorate.

Al-Hayek's call to action came during a recent review of several significant sites, including Qasr Al-Karmil, Qisarya, Khirbet Umm Al-Amad, and Khirbet Beit 'Amra in the Hebron Governorate. During his visit, he assessed the current conditions and identified the specific needs for preservation and development at each location. The minister emphasized the importance of integrating these historical assets into Palestine's tourism map while shielding them from external dangers.
