Palestino defeats Coquimbo Unido with a golazo, pressures league leaders

Palestino secured a crucial 2-1 victory over Coquimbo Unido, leveling on points with league leaders UC and U. The win came courtesy of a stunning goal from Argentine midfielder Marcelo Eggel, who caught the opposing goalkeeper off his line with a shot from midfield in the 16th minute.

Coquimbo Unido responded quickly, equalizing in the 20th minute through Nicolás Johansen's penalty. The match remained evenly contested until the closing stages of the second half.

Nelson Da Silva scored the decisive goal for Palestino in the 80th minute, connecting with a cross from Sebastián Gallegos. The victory was sealed despite a late red card for Coquimbo Unido's Luis Riveros in stoppage time.

With this win, Palestino climbs to fourth place in the Liga de Primera table with 27 points. They are set to face Universidad de Chile on August 9.
