Panama's Federales de Chiriquí prepare for 2026 Caribbean Series Kids

Panama's Federales de Chiriquí, set to represent the nation in the 2026 Caribbean Series Kids, has called up 31 young players to begin their preparation for the regional youth baseball tournament. The event is scheduled to take place from August 10 to 16 in Nayarit, Mexico.

The selected players will commence their training on Thursday, July 30, at the Rod Carew Stadium in Panama City. From this group, the final team that will compete in the Caribbean Series Kids will be chosen. The Federales earned their spot in the international competition by winning the local Probeis Kids tournament, which concluded on June 6.

The Caribbean Series Kids, now in its third iteration, is an international tournament organized by the Confederation of Professional Baseball of the Caribbean. It mirrors the traditional Caribbean Series but features children's teams, typically aged 11 and 12. The tournament aims to foster baseball development from an early age and provide young athletes with an international experience akin to that of professional players. Previous editions have seen participation from countries with strong baseball traditions in the Caribbean and Latin America, including the Dominican Republic, Puerto Rico, Mexico, Venezuela, and Nicaragua.
