Panamanian President Mulino arrives in Peru for Fujimori's inauguration

Panamanian President José Raúl Mulino arrived in Lima on Monday to participate in the presidential inauguration of Keiko Fujimori, who will serve as Peru's president from 2026 to 2031. Mulino, accompanied by his wife Maricel Cohen de Mulino, received a formal welcome from Peruvian Minister of Production César Quispe.

Beyond attending the swearing-in ceremony on Tuesday, Mulino is scheduled for a bilateral meeting with Fujimori. Discussions will focus on trade, investments, and security, particularly on revitalizing the free trade agreement between Panama and Peru. This meeting follows their shared recognition of the need to enhance economic ties.

The inauguration ceremony, set for Tuesday, July 28, in the Peruvian Congress, is expected to draw a significant international presence. Attendees will include presidents Javier Milei of Argentina, Rodrigo Paz of Bolivia, José Antonio Kast of Chile, Santiago Peña of Paraguay, Yamandú Orsi of Uruguay, Nasry Asfura of Honduras, and Daniel Noboa of Ecuador. King Felipe VI of Spain will also attend, along with other international delegations invited by the Peruvian government.
