Paraguay Destroys Over 10 Tons of Marijuana, Dismantles Drug Camp

In a significant operation against drug trafficking, Paraguay's National Anti-Drug Secretariat (Senad) has eradicated over 10 tons of marijuana in Bella Vista Norte, Amambay. The targeted intervention, conducted by the Senad's regional office, also led to the destruction of a makeshift camp used for the storage, processing, and distribution of the illicit substance. The operation, which took place in an area known as “Tamburi,” involved the destruction of approximately 12 tons of marijuana cultivated across four hectares. The eradication efforts were carried out under the supervision of prosecutor Rossana Coronel, a standard procedure in such interventions. Senad officials emphasized that their regional office in Bella Vista Norte maintains constant patrols and controls in the area. Their mission is to dismantle criminal organizations operating along the sensitive border region, highlighting the persistent challenges in combating drug-related activities. This action underscores Paraguay's ongoing commitment to drug interdiction. The destruction of such a large quantity of marijuana and the dismantling of associated infrastructure represent a blow to trafficking networks operating in the region.
