Paraguay Issues New Storm Alert for Four Departments

Southern Paraguay and parts of the Chaco region are under a meteorological alert due to the possibility of severe weather phenomena in the coming hours. The Directorate of Meteorology and Hydrology issued a new bulletin on Tuesday morning, indicating a high probability of significant rains and thunderstorms.

The alert specifically warns of "nuclei of storms persisting over the coverage area, with the probability of causing very localized severe weather phenomena over their coverage area during the remainder of this morning." Moderate to strong thunderstorms and electrical storms are expected in four departments: Itapúa, Misiones, Ñeembucú, and the central and southeastern parts of Presidente Hayes.

Forecasting for Tuesday does not rule out precipitation and thunderstorms in most other areas of Paraguay, including the capital, Asunción. The adverse weather conditions are projected to continue into Wednesday, with the possibility of extending through Thursday.
