Paraguay issues strong wind alert for Sunday, with gusts up to 90 km/h

The Directorate of Meteorology in Paraguay has issued a special alert for strong winds expected to sweep across the country on Sunday. Residents are advised to prepare for moderate to strong gusts throughout the day, particularly during the morning and early afternoon hours.

According to the latest bulletin, winds from the north will persist with considerable intensity. While most of the country can expect gusts around 60 km/h, the western Chaco region, known as the Chaco's Occidental, could experience even stronger winds, with speeds potentially reaching up to 90 km/h. Meteorologists noted that isolated areas might even record values exceeding these figures.

The alert encompasses a broad geographical area, including the capital city of Asunción. Numerous departments are also affected, spanning both the Oriental and Occidental regions of Paraguay. These include Concepción, San Pedro, Cordillera, Guairá, Caaguazú, Caazapá, Itapúa, Misiones, Paraguarí, Alto Paraná, Central, Ñeembucú, Amambay, Canindeyú, Presidente Hayes, Alto Paraguay, and Boquerón.
