Paraguay's Alonso: World Cup allows few errors, team ready for France

Paraguay's left-back Júnior Alonso stressed the unforgiving nature of the World Cup, noting that the team learned this lesson early in the tournament. "The World Cup doesn't allow many errors. We realized this in the first game against the United States and it helped us perform better in the subsequent matches against Turkey, Australia, and Germany," Alonso said at a press conference.

Alonso highlighted the team's collective effort, stating, "It's not just us defensively, not just the back four or five. We're talking about everyone from Julio (Enciso) to Orlando (Gill), from the attacker to the goalkeeper." He emphasized the need for unity, compactness, and aggression, drawing parallels to their performance against Germany.

Reflecting on their victory over Germany in the round of 16, Alonso described it as achieving "everything humanly possible." He assured that the team's mentality would remain the same for the match against France. "Against France, it will be no different. We have that mentality. We know what we are capable of, and the only thing we can promise is that we will give 100%," he stated.
