Paraguay's Santa Rosa launches JMEV EV2, cheapest electric car on market

Santa Rosa Paraguay is making a significant move towards accessible sustainable mobility with the launch of the JMEV EV2, positioned as the cheapest 5-door electric vehicle on the Paraguayan market.

The official unveiling took place at Expo Paraguay 2026, where attendees experienced the vehicle's design, technology, and features. The JMEV EV2 is engineered for efficient urban commuting, measuring 3.50 meters long, making it easy to park. Its five-door configuration offers practicality without compromising interior space, promising an agile and smooth driving experience.

A key selling point is the low cost per kilometer and reduced maintenance expenses compared to traditional combustion engine vehicles. Santa Rosa Paraguay, part of the Grupo Santa Rosa, backs the EV2 with its comprehensive warranty and after-sales service.

Technically, the JMEV EV2 is equipped with a 15.86 kWh lithium battery and a 30 kW (40 hp) motor, providing an estimated urban autonomy of up to 200 km on a full charge under the CLTC homologation cycle. Charging takes approximately 6 to 7 hours via its standard CCS2 connector. Safety features include dual front airbags, ABS with EBD, tire pressure monitoring, hill-start assist, and ISOFIX anchors.
