Paraguayan actors represent nation at Brazil's Bonito Cinesur Film Festival

Paraguay's vibrant film scene is being showcased at the Bonito Cinesur South American Film Festival in Bonito, Brazil, with actors Celso Franco and Diro Romero representing the nation. The festival, which runs until August 1, features Marcelo Martinessi's film "Narciso" in its competitive section for feature films.

Celso Franco, an acclaimed actor known for his role in "7 Cajas," will lend his expertise as a member of the jury for the short and feature film competition. He will evaluate submissions alongside Brazilian filmmaker Dandara Ferreira and Chilean producer Gabriela Sandoval.

Diro Romero will be present to support "Narciso," starring Franco, during its screening on July 29. The film is gaining international recognition, having also secured a spot in the competitive lineup for the San Sebastian Film Festival in Spain this September.

"Narciso" will vie for the Pantanal Trophy against five other regional productions. The festival itself is honoring Chilean actress, director, and playwright Paulina García, a recipient of the Silver Bear for Best Actress at Berlinale 2013. The Bonito Cinesur festival aims to highlight productions from 10 of the 12 South American countries, welcoming over 150 international guests.
