Paraguayan forward Fabiola Sandoval joins Flamengo

Flamengo's women's football team has bolstered its squad for the remainder of the season with the signing of Paraguayan attacker Fabiola Sandoval. The 21-year-old striker successfully completed her medical and physical examinations at the CT das Vargens and has officially joined the Rio de Janeiro club.

Sandoval, originally from Caaguazú, Paraguay, has built a notable career in women's football. She began her journey at Sportivo Limpeño before moving to Libertad. Her international experience includes a stint with Colo-Colo in Chile. In 2021, she entered the Brazilian league with Bahia, where her strong performances caught the attention of Avaí Kindermann. She later played for Internacional and Cruzeiro, her most recent club, where her two-season tenure was cut short by a knee injury.

Upon her arrival in Rio de Janeiro, Sandoval conveyed her excitement for this new professional chapter. "I am very happy. I have no words to describe the pride I feel wearing this jersey. Flamengo trusted me and my work, so this is the opportunity of my life," she stated. "Fans can be sure that I will give my best and leave everything on the field for this crest."

With her sights set on success at Flamengo, Sandoval also aims to reclaim her spot in the Paraguayan national team. "We are talking about a giant club, I didn't even think twice," she said. "I remember the moment my agent told me and I just asked when I would be presented. It's a great opportunity. Everything I am today, I owe to Brazilian football. I hope to score many goals in Brazil and return to the national team."
