Parastatidis-Katsikas: 'Licenses for private universities were granted on demand'

Senior officials from Greece's PASOK-KINAL party are challenging the recent licensing of private universities, alleging that the approvals were made "on demand." Stefanos Parastatidis, a Kilkis MP and the party's education sector head, along with Sokratis Katsikas, the secretary of the education sector, have jointly issued a statement demanding transparency.

Their statement calls for the full publication of the reasoning and meeting minutes behind the decisions to re-license the Keele and York educational institutions. This demand stems from concerns that the institutions may not have fully addressed the deficiencies previously identified by the Council of State, Greece's highest administrative court.

The party officials seek to ensure that the re-licensing process adhered to proper legal and administrative procedures.
