Parents move children from Pamulang school to Madrasah Pembangunan amid foundation dispute

Several parents have moved their children from TKIP-SDIP Pamulang to Madrasah Pembangunan UIN Jakarta amid a legal conflict between former and current administrators of the Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta Foundation.

Wahyudi, head of MI Pembangunan UIN Jakarta, confirmed the transfers to reporters in Jakarta on Tuesday. He said the students came from several grade levels and that each move reflected the parents’ own decision after considering legal status, educational continuity, the school environment and costs.

Wahyudi said some parents were reassured by Madrasah Pembangunan’s place within the education system of UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta and its long experience in managing education. Cost was another consideration. Students transferring from a school under the same management will not have to pay again for building fees, program activity fees or other charges that their families have already covered.

He said the policy eased the financial burden because previous payments could continue to apply. Parents also cited comfort and calm during lessons, hoping their children could study without disruption from issues outside the educational process.
