Parque de las Leyendas zoo announces Fiestas Patrias activities

The Parque de las Leyendas, Lima's renowned zoo, is preparing a special program to celebrate Peru's Fiestas Patrias on July 28 and 29. The zoo aims to offer a unique family experience by blending nature, culture, and history across its San Miguel and Huachipa sites.

On July 28, the San Miguel location will feature environmental enrichments for spectacled bears, vicuñas, and Andean condors. Visitors can also participate in an activity called 'La gran ruta de la Peruanidad en Maranga' at the Museo de Sitio, witness an exhibition of the Peruvian Paso horse, and enjoy a concert by the Orquesta Filarmónica Infantil del Perú. The Huachipa site will host a performance by impressionist Tony Cam.

The following day, July 29, the San Miguel location will offer environmental enrichments for jaguars, Andean cocks-of-the-rock, monkeys, and flamingos. An activity titled 'Pintando nuestra Identidad milenaria' will take place, followed by a musical performance by Jesús Zavaleta, a winner of 'Yo soy,' paying tribute to Pedro Infante with boleros and rancheras.

Throughout both days, visitors will have the opportunity to see emblematic species from Peru and around the world, including Andean condors, Humboldt penguins, Tumbes crocodiles, jaguars, giraffes, lions, rhinoceroses, and hippos. The zoo operates daily from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., and proceeds from ticket sales contribute to the care, feeding, and veterinary attention of over 3,500 rescued animals.
