Part of Bacău Bypass to Open August 31, But North Interchange Will Miss Deadline

Drivers eagerly awaiting the complete opening of the Bacău Bypass, coinciding with the inauguration of a new section of the A7 Motorway in Romania, will have to wait longer. While traffic will commence on the Adjud to Bacău Sud segment starting August 31, the CNAIR has announced that the Bacău Nord road junction will not be ready in time.

Cristian Pistol, the Director General of CNAIR, announced the partial opening following a site visit. He confirmed that the 47.10-kilometer stretch between Adjud and Bacău Sud will be accessible from 4:00 PM on August 31. This opening will extend the motorway from Bucharest to the Bacău Bypass interchange connecting to DN2F, which leads to Vaslui.

However, the final approximately 4 kilometers leading to the Bacău Nord interchange will remain closed. This delay is due to unfinished connection works. Authorities had previously estimated that the entire section would be operational by the end of August.

Once the Adjud - Bacău Sud section opens, a total of 241.62 kilometers of the 319-kilometer A7 Motorway (Ploiești - Pașcani) will be in use. He added, "Moldova is receiving its motorway – and with it, concrete economic development prospects."

The exact date for the opening of the Bacău Nord interchange has not yet been announced. Pistol stated it will open after the final connection works are completed. The A7 motorway's execution lots are financed through the PNRR (National Recovery and Resilience Plan).
