Partner of mechanic who died in Necochea bids him farewell with a heartfelt message: 'You took a big part of me'

María Eugenia has shared a deeply moving message mourning the loss of her partner, Santiago Duca, who died tragically at the age of 35 in a jeep accident on the dunes of Necochea. In a heartfelt letter posted on Facebook, she expressed the profound anguish and sadness she feels, stating, "You took a big part of me."

"My great love, my great companion, I keep clinging to the idea that this is a nightmare or a bad joke of yours," she wrote, addressing Duca. "You left me two great loves, so small, our babies whom we desired and were so grateful to have."

She reflected on their 12 years together, expressing gratitude for the beautiful journey and the family they created. "Thank you for accompanying me for 12 beautiful years, for the family we formed, for all the good things you taught me, you made me a better person, you taught me to see life differently," she shared. María Eugenia is now focused on finding ways to explain to their young daughters the kind of father Santiago was and the depth of his love for them.

Describing Duca's character, she highlighted his generosity, stating, "You never expected anything in return, you gave more than you had because that's how you always lived." As a mechanic, his passion for vehicles was evident. "It's true that you were passionate about 'fierros' (cars) and you showed it because you loved what you did. You were someone who made a difference, you were unique in what you did, you put your whole heart into every job, super responsible and committed," she recalled. Even though she didn't understand his profession, she enjoyed listening to him talk about his work, which was clearly more than just a job to him.

In her closing words, María Eugenia vowed eternal love and expressed how much she will miss him. "I will love you eternally and I will miss you until the last day of my life. We were the best team and with your departure, you took a big part of me. Forever my heart will be yours, until we meet again, my beautiful chubby," she concluded. Duca died after the Jeep he was driving overturned on the Necochea beach dunes. He was reportedly testing the vehicle, which had undergone repairs, for a client.
