PASOK-KINAL to Tsipras: Who funds your expensive campaign?

Greece's PASOK-K Movement for Change (KINAL) has launched a sharp attack on Alexis Tsipras's party, questioning the financing of what it calls the "most expensive opposition party campaign."

It is now obvious that Mr. Tsipras's privately owned party, funded by unclear resources, has chosen a two-front war, consciously trying to keep Mr. Mitsotakis as Prime Minister and New Democracy in government.

PASOK-KINAL stated that under the leadership of Fofi Gennimata and Nikos Androulakis, it settled its debts and consistently adheres to its agreement, allocating a significant portion of its annual state subsidy to repayment. The party emphasized that it has not taken out any loans since 2010 and uses its remaining state funding to cover all obligations, asserting that it owes no money to anyone.

Clear words: Mr. Tsipras, PASOK under Fofi Gennimata and Nikos Androulakis settled its debts and strictly adheres to the agreement framework, paying a large part of its state subsidy each year. Since 2010, it has not received a single euro in loans from anywhere. With the remaining state subsidy, it repays all its obligations. It owes no one a single euro.

In contrast, PASOK-KINAL accused the former prime minister, Tsipras, of choosing a "dark path" and demanded to know who is financing his party. The party questioned how Tsipras could personally cover the expenses of a party with employees, offices, tours, digital campaigns, and events costing hundreds of thousands of euros. PASOK-KINAL labeled Tsipras's party as "privately owned" and funded by "unclear resources," alleging it deliberately works to keep Kyriakos Mitsotakis and the ruling New Democracy party in power.
